About the role
As a member of our HR Advice team you will provide practical, pragmatic and compliant HR guidance to managers and employees across the organisation. You will work collaboratively with colleagues in HR and other business areas to resolve employee relations issues, support performance management, and promote positive people practices that align with our values and legal obligations.
Key responsibilities

Employee relations: Provide clear, balanced and timely advice on disciplinary, grievance, absence and conduct matters, supporting managers to follow fair and consistent processes.

Case management: Take ownership of casework, maintaining accurate records, setting realistic timescales and ensuring cases progress to resolution with appropriate documentation.

Policy and process: Interpret and apply HR policies and employment legislation, advising on reasonable adjustments, flexible working and contractual matters.

Performance and capability: Support managers with performance improvement plans, capability reviews and dismissal processes where required, ensuring procedural fairness.

Coaching and training: Deliver coaching to managers on difficult conversations, provide briefings on HR topics and contribute to the development of guidance materials.

Stakeholder partnership: Build effective relationships with business leaders, legal advisors and external providers to ensure joined-up support for people matters.

Continuous improvement: Identify trends from casework, recommend improvements to policies and processes, and contribute to projects that enhance the employee experience.

Reporting and governance: Maintain data on cases, produce regular reports for senior HR and ensure compliance with internal governance and audit requirements.
About you

Proven experience providing HR advice and managing employee relations matters within a busy environment.

Sound knowledge of UK employment law and best practice HR procedures.

Confident influencing and coaching skills, able to support managers through challenging conversations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear case notes and management briefings.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload across multiple cases.

Discreet and trustworthy with experience handling confidential and sensitive information.

Qualifications

Relevant HR experience; CIPD qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
